Like other games on Newgrounds, Friday Night Funkin' has a set of medals (also called achievements) that players can achieve after completing certain tasks. Once said tasks have been achieved, the player will receive a certain amount of points that will register on their Newgrounds account. These medals were added with the release of the Pitstop 2 update. There are 20 current medals in total, with one of them being secret.

1 - If the player already has Pico as a playable character, completing WeekEnd 1 on another difficulty or achieving a new high score will unlock the achievement.
2 - To achieve this medal, the player must start the game on a Friday. This achievement uses the internal clock on the player's device to tell the time.
Older Medals
Prior to the Pitstop 2 update, there was a set of five different medals, two of them being secret, though after the WeekEnd 1 update was released, they no longer registered on Newgrounds accounts.[1] Additionally, the purpose of those 2 secret medals remains unknown, and after the aforementioned update, they were removed.[2]

- Many names of certain medals contain references to their respective medals:
- I Said Funkin' is likely a reference to a video about Friday Night Funkin' memes.[3]
- That's How You Do It! is named after the phrase that Girlfriend says in Tutorial after Boyfriend's first 2 turns.
- More Like Daddy Queerest is a nickname for Daddy Dearest that originates from a shitpost video showcasing the Chart Editor made by PhantomArcade and posted on the FridayNightFunkin (@FNF_Developers) Twitter account.[4]
- IT IS THE SPOOKY MONTH is a reference to Skid and Pump's catchphrase in their origin series, Spooky Month, which is also the title of Week 2.
- Pico Funny is named after a misheard lyric heard in the second track of Week 3, Philly Nice, which eventually became a meme within the fandom.
- Mommy Must Murder is named after the title of Week 4.
- Yule Tide Joy is a reference to Week 5's Christmas theme. Yule Tide is an alternate spelling of Yuletide, which was an Old English term used to describe the Christmas season. The term itself is derived from Yule, a Germanic winter festival, and the suffix -tide, which means "period" or "season."
- A Visual Novelty is a reference to Week 6's dating sim/visual novel theme.
- I <3 JohnnyUtah references JohnnyUtah, the creator and voice actor of Tankman and the redesigner of the Newgrounds and Friday Night Funkin' logos.
- Yo! Really Think So? is named after a fake leak related to WeekEnd 1, which eventually became a meme within the fandom.
- Stay Funky is named after the theme of the same name heard on the Character Select screen.
- Getting Freaky is named after the theme of the same name heard on the title screen.
- Nice is a reference to a meme related to the 69 sex position.
- Eat it Up! is a reference to a lyric heard in Special Collab 1's track, SPAGHETTI.
- According to an old GitHub commit, certain medals originally had different names:[5]
- Pico Funny was originally supposed to be named Zeboim Damn Ima Nut. This was based on a fake lyric included in the art booklet that came included with the Friday Night Funkin' - The Official Soundtrack Vol. 1 CD.
- Yule Tide Joy was originally supposed to be named FNF Corruption Mod (real). This is a reference to the Friday Night Funkin': Corruption mod, which was based on the background of Winter Horrorland, most specifically Girlfriend's grotesque head seen on top of the Christmas tree.
- A Visual Novelty was originally named The Original .EXE. This is a reference to video game-inspired creepypastas, some of which have become very popular in the Friday Night Funkin' fandom and had various mods based on them, like the infamous Sonic.exe.
- I <3 JohnnyUtah was originally named I'm Gonna Beep-Beep a Garbage Truck Into Your Girlfriend's Face! This is a reference to one of Tankman's unused voice lines.[6] EliteMasterEric stated that the medal's name was changed because it was causing UI issues (likely due to the long name), though he still wishes to revert it to its original name.[7]
