Fabian, better known online as fabs or fabsthefabs, is an English programmer, artist, animator, and musician. They are well-known in the Friday Night Funkin' fandom for working on several mods. They are now serving as a co-programmer and charter for the official game. They help with the game's programming with ninjamuffin99 and EliteMasterEric and chart various tracks.
Involvement
fabs' involvement in Friday Night Funkin' began with them working on a now-scrapped reskin mod based on Paper Mario replacing Week 6 titled Paper Mario Funkin' with fellow mod artist Clowfoe. They would later go on to work on various other mods like Vs Impostor, Hotline 024, Friday Night Funkin' Lullaby, and Funkin' At Freddy's.
With the release of the WeekEnd 1 update, it was revealed that fabs is officially working with The Funkin' Crew Inc.[2] They have coded many aspects of the game, including assets submods, shader filters, character in-game animations, visuals, programming for various menus and PlayStates, and more. They also charted almost every new song included since the WeekEnd 1 update, usually with Spazkid.
Trivia
- fabs often uses a persona for their online activity, being one of an anthropomorphic blue cat stick figure with floating limbs. This actually started as a recolor of the cat model used in SAPARi, but the design stuck with fabs, and they have since then used it as a self-insert.[3]
- fabs' online alias is simply a variation of their real name's first 3 letters.[4]
- fabs, Saruky, Saster, Sugar Moon, DozenRahyz, IGJH, gackt enzo, Funni342, DegoDraws, and bbpanzu are currently the only people from the Friday Night Funkin' modding community known to be involved with the official game.
- fabs made content for the Mario community before joining the Friday Night Funkin' community.
