MtH
Emma, better known online as MtH, is a Dutch musician and programmer. She is the current lead manager of the SiIvaGunner YouTube channel, a channel that uploads "high quality rips" of video game music, which in actuality are remixes of video game OSTs to include memes, jokes, mash-ups and other forms of parody content. She has contributed to Friday Night Funkin' by providing programming, charting and music help.
Involvement
Starting on the 1st of January, 2021, and throughout most of the year, the SiIvaGunner YouTube channel would upload "rips" of Friday Night Funkin' tracks every Friday. ninjamuffin99, being a fan of the channel, would take kindly to the uploads and encourage them.[1][2] The rips were made possible thanks to a program MtH made called the SiIva Note Importer For FNF (SNIFF),[3] which converted charts made in FL Studio into JSON files, allowing them to be used for the game, which largely fixed the charting and input system issues present for Friday Night Funkin' at the time prior to Week 7. ninjamuffin99, impressed by the program, would ask MtH if he could use it as he didn't like the chart editor that he had coded for the game at the time,[4] to which MtH agreed, starting her official involvement with the game.[5]
Starting in early February 2021, MtH would contribute successful pull requests on the official Friday Night Funkin' GitHub repository, such as submitting a pull request that made the engine now capable of handling varying beats per minute (BPM)[6] and another that fixed a graphical glitch involving sustain notes.[7] With the Week 7 update, MtH reworked the input system to fix the notable issues with hit detection at the time, added support for songs that have decimals in their BPM and fixed some bugs. She also did the charting for Ugh on all its difficulties, Guns and Stress on their Easy and Normal difficulties, and the chart for Monster, which was finally implemented in the update, improving Reddit user ChaoticGamerCG's original fan chart of the song that was added in the game files months before, as well as re-charting every song in the game up until that point, with the exception of Tutorial.[8] She also added vocals to the unused song Test, which was only an instrumental previously.[9]
Currently, MtH continues to contribute by providing additional coding help[10] as well as providing music for the game on occasion, such as Breakfast (Week 6 Version).[11]
Trivia
- During September 2021, MtH would post a now-deleted tweet that supposedly leaked Week 8. The sprite of the opponent was cut off, with only the top of them visible, and the name of the level was titled "Out and About". On the 10th of May, 2023, MtH would reveal that the leak was never real, and that the sprite of the opponent was created by taking a bit of Mommy Mearest's sprite and adding some extra lines to it with MS Paint.[12]
