Trivia
Darnell, Lit Up and 2hot were accidentally leaked late March 2022 through a link to the test build of an unreleased update found in the GitHub repository for Friday Night Funkin'.[1][2] The songs were confirmed to be real as PhantomArcade revealed that IvanAlmighty was the one who did the voice for Darnell in these songs.[3]
While the song remains mostly the same, there are some minor differences between the leaked version and the finalized version.
The audio mixing is slighty tweaked.
The voices have a slight reverb.
The instrumental at 0:21 sounds more muffled than in the leaked version.
Part of Lit Up's instrumental was shown off in a Twitter video posted by Kawai Sprite in June 2021.[4]
Lit Up (BF Mix) samples the vocals from "Chuckie", a song from Kawai Sprite's album Chuckie Finster.
Lit Up (BF Mix) is one of the only tracks whose instrumental cannot substitute the original song's instrumental when playing as Pico. This may be due to its extended length and altered key, as well as the various liberties within the remix.
An earlier version of Lit Up (BF Mix) reveals that the song was originally the exact same length as the base song, meaning that substituting the instrumentals was likely possible at one point before the song got extended later in development.[5]
Lit Up is one of two songs to not have hold notes in its charts, the other one being Blazin'.
The instrumental of Lit Up (BF Mix) was used in the trailer for the Pitstop 2 update.
